MCA announces finalists for 2024 awards

Over 40 leading consulting firms of all sizes have secured places as finalists for the 2024 MCA Awards. The winners will be announced October 15th, at a black-tie event in London’s Grosvenor Hotel.

Hosted annually by the UK consulting industry’s representative body, the Management Consultancies Association’s MCA Awards are the biggest event in the sector’s calendar. Highlighting the work done by consultants in partnership with clients as well as the talent across the sector, each year, the awards continue to grow. 2023 saw record numbers of entries from over 50 leading consulting firms and 85 client organisations, and a ceremony with over 1,000 attendees including representatives from government and the media as well as clients and MCA member firms.

The MCA opened for submissions for the latest edition in November 2023, and has been judging those entrants since February. Now, the MCA has revealed the finalists for the 27th MCA Awards. The shortlisted firms and consultants will now be interviewed by the MCA’s specialist jury in June and July – including new judges Baroness Tanni Grey-Thomson, broadcaster Matt Frei and Deputy Business Editor for The Times, Tracey Boles. This will determine the winners announced at a gala on the 15th of October, at Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Mayfair district – an event which will this year be hosted by former Conservative Party leader William Hague.

Overall PwC and KPMG secured the most finalist positions with 29 shortlisted entries each, EY has 21 and Capgemini enters for the first time with 14 finalist positions secured. However, the nominations by no means exclude smaller firms, and overall, 40 consulting brands have confirmed finalist positions following independent marking by the MCA Awards judging panel. Of those, 56% of finalist entries were secured by SMEs.

Tamzen Isacsson, the CEO of the MCA, said of the nominees, “The UK consulting sector is a great British success story – a thriving force in the UK economy and society and recognised across the world as a global centre of expertise and innovation. The industry plays a crucial role in driving regional growth, building critical infrastructure and supporting the success of thousands of businesses across the UK and is actively engaged in creating jobs, delivering innovation, and contributing to the prosperity of local communities. All of this is exemplified by the finalists in the MCA Awards each year and this year is no exception.”
