Ramboll names Kosh Kar director to boost city regeneration offering

As an accredited architect, Kar joins Ramboll from the Greater London Authority (GLA), where he led the infrastructure coordination development service, working with the private and public sector to unlock development. He has also provided industry leadership, technical expertise and project management for a range of strategic utilities infrastructure and development coordination initiatives, including leading the GLA’s response to West London electrical capacity constraints, which aimed to unlock a decade’s worth of development for up to 30,000 new homes, along with hospitals and schools for the area.

Johnny Ojeil, Ramboll’s head of division for regenerative cities, noted, “Adding Kosh’s expertise to the team is a significant boon in our mission to shift planning and design for towns and cities from ’doing less harm’ to ’doing more good’ to address the threats of climate change, biodiversity and growing inequality.”

While London is often reported as being one of the most attractive population centres in the world, a number of new challenges are seeing its ‘liveability’ for residents stagnate. In his role as a director in Ramboll’s regenerative cities team, Kar will be working alongside the team to support the authorities of cities like London with developing life centred places that replenish resources and create local social, environmental and economic systems that not only sustain themselves, but continuously regenerate and grow.

Ojeil added, “His track record in delivering some of London’s most exciting and ambitious projects is a testament to his ability and dedication to deliver long term sustainable outcomes. Furthermore, Kosh’s passion for diversity will add further strength to the initiatives we proudly support at Ramboll.”
