Hymans Robertson appoints Lisa Whitfield to lead strategic relationships
Actuarial consultancy Hymans Robertson has promoted Lisa Whitfield to its head of strategic relationships. Working from the firm’s London office, Whitfield will develop the firm’s relationships with clients across the pensions industry.
Head of Pensions Richard Shackleton commented, “It’s great to welcome Lisa to the pensions leadership team. Her newly created role is strategically significant for our firm, as we place great importance on supporting and partnering with pensions professionals across the market.”
For more than 100 years, Hymans Robertson is a consulting firm which has helped employers, trustees and financial services institutions with independent pensions, investments, benefits and risk consulting services. The UK headquartered firm also offers data and technology solutions, and boasts over 1,000 employees in four offices.
In a constantly changing pensions landscape, Whitfield will be working collaboratively with key stakeholders throughout the industry to help improve their member outcomes. As Hymans Robertson’s head of strategic relationships, she will develop the consultancy’s relationships with professional independent trustees, as well as other stakeholders across the industry, including covenant assessors, law firms and third-party evaluators.
To help her do that, Whitfield brings more than 30 years of experience working in the financial services industry, having joined the company in 2017. In the last six years, she has served as a senior new business consultant, while focusing on developing relationships with key stakeholders. She also established the company’s professional trustee programme which provides assistance to schemes for the recruitment of professional trustees.
Speaking on her new role, Whitfield said, “During the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know some fabulous people across the pensions market and I’m excited about deepening and expanding these relationships. This has been especially rewarding in the work I’ve done helping to join up schemes, sponsors, and professional trustees through our professional trustee programme.”
Looking ahead, she noted she was particularly looking forward to the increased time she will spend with Hymans Robertson’s professional trustee community. She added that “professional trustees provide such a valuable contribution to the industry, using their expertise to ensure schemes are making the best choices for their members.”
Hymans Robertson was recently named one of the UK’s leading pension consulting firms.
