Callum Stewart becomes Head of DC Investment at Hymans Robertson

Hymans Robertson has promoted Callum Stewart to lead its defined contribution investment wing. He will now manage and embed the firm’s climate and responsible investment strategy.

Commenting on his new appointment, Stewart said, “I’m delighted to embrace the role of Head of Investment for our defined contribution (DC) business. I’m thrilled to be leading our DC investment team and advising our clients about the importance of climate change and other areas such as investment in illiquid assets which we can use to improve outcomes for individual members.”

A well thought through and executed investment strategy is fundamental to ensure better outcomes for DC scheme members. Hymans Robertson’s DC investment wing works with all types of DC schemes, providing advice on investment strategy, portfolio construction and implementation which are designed to meet the specific needs and objectives of its clients.

“I believe there is an opportunity to influence the lives of millions of savers in the UK, by addressing climate risks and opportunities and wider responsible investment considerations in a positive way,” Stewart added regarding his role with the practice.

With 13 years of experience in the pensions industry, Stewart arrived with Hymans Robertson in 2015. He is responsible for DC Master Trust and single-employer clients, and has been actively involved in driving the firm’s approach to tackling climate change and responsible investment. A Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, he recently co-founded an industry action group to encourage all pension providers to make a climate impact investment option available to all DC savers across the UK.

In his new role, he will help our clients navigate the changing DC landscape and drive positive change for members. According to a release from the firm, the appointment “echoes commitments” Hymans Robertson has made to have a positive influence on the outcomes for individual pension savers, and the wider world.
