Broadcaster Clare Balding to present MCA Awards 2023
The Management Consultancies Association has announced that sports broadcasting icon Claire Balding will present its annual award ceremony. The MCA Awards has enjoyed a record year of participation, with entries growing by 10% from the previous edition.
The 26th edition of the MCA Awards comes at a time of great change for both the UK consulting industry, and its leading representative body. Taking place on Monday October 9th 2023, the Management Consultancies Association’s annual showcase is maintaining its changed time-frame, with the awards ceremony having become an autumn fixture since the pandemic. At the same time, to reflect the growth of the MCA and its awards over the last five years, the ceremony will also take place in a new venue: London’s Grosvenor Hotel.
While many things have changed for the MCA Awards in recent years, however, many more have remained consistent. Exemplifying this continuity, the 2023 event will be presided over by a leading television personality. Previous editions have been anchored by Mastermind’s Clive Myrie, radio and television host Jeremy Vine, and legendary newsreader Trevor MacDonald. Joining them this year, sports broadcaster Clare Balding has been announced as the master of ceremonies.
Tamzen Isacsson, MCA Chief Executive, said, “Clare Balding is one of Britain’s best broadcasters and we’re thrilled she has agreed to present this year’s MCA Awards which champion the value our sector delivers to society and our clients in the UK and globally and the talented people working in our industry.”
Over a broadcasting career spanning three decades, Balding has worked on every Olympic Games since 1996, and on every Paralympics since 2000. She picked up a BAFTA Special Award for her work on London 2012, and continues to present major events in sport, and factual documentaries. A passionate campaigner for equality and women’s sport, she is also a best-selling author of numerous books and children’s novels – and in June 2022, she was awarded a CBE for her services to Sport and Charity.
The 26th MCA Awards will once again recognise the transformational work the management consulting sector is delivering for society as well as championing the individuals who are having a significant impact in their careers. Once again, the awards has seen a record year of participation and interest from across the consulting sector, with over 50 firms entering their project teams and individuals – and entries up nearly 10% on last year. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and dinner attended by the management consultancy sector and key stakeholders including the government, national media, and major client organisations.
Isacsson added, “It’s another record-breaking year with stiff competition for those wanting to make it to the finalist stages and we look forward to hosting the successful project teams and individuals at two new prestigious venues this year. The MCA Awards continue to grow year on year and this leading event is a key opportunity for our industry to come together with clients and to champion the results we deliver and the amazing talent in our sector.”
