Q5 launches second US office in Houston
UK-headquartered advisory group Q5 has launched a ninth global office. The new Houston locale is the firm’s second hub in the US.
Founded in 2009, Q5 is a consulting firm which helps clients develop strategy, design operating models, and deliver organisational change. The firm has more than 300 specialists stationed across offices in London, Leeds, Cardiff, Riyadh, Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and New York.
As the firm looks to capitalise on rapid growth in the world’s largest consulting market, it has opted to expand its North American footprint with the launch of a new Houston office. The new wing will offer Q5’s full range of services, including organisational design, transformation, performance improvement, and human capital solutions. Its team of experts will now work collaboratively with clients to build strong partnerships, drive innovation, create opportunities, and deliver results.
Oliver Purnell, Founder of Q5, commented, “It’s very exciting to grow Q5’s presence in Houston. In truth, we’ve been operating in the city for a few years, but working remotely or at client sites. Opening an office at The Ion provides a fun, modern and uplifting place for our colleagues to work in, as we continue to embrace hybrid working. I’m hugely proud of everyone who has made Q5 such fabulous place to work in Houston.”
The Houston team has taken up residence in The Ion, former Sears store, which was retrofitted as offices two years ago. The 266,000-square-foot, six-level building now offers up co-working and private spaces, business incubators and accelerators, classrooms, a prototyping lab, investor studio, and restaurants.
The new space sees Q5 rubbing shoulders with some of the largest corporations in the US. Fellow tenants include Chevron Technology Ventures and Microsoft. Meanwhile, other organisations in the Houston region are invited to visit Q5's office, to learn more about how the firm can help them achieve their objectives.
The office will be headed by Claire Markwardt, a former Accenture Partner, with more than 30 years of experience in management consulting. She joined Q5 in 2022, and takes on the role of Managing Director for Q5 Houston – a city she has deep knowledge of, having attended high school there according to her LinkedIn profile.
Markwardt added, “Selecting The Ion as our home base in midtown Houston allows us to participate in the transformation of a very special corridor. And it provides opportunities for us to give back to the business community – which is squarely part of our mission. We look forward to sharing our organisational expertise with others at The Ion as well as exploring and innovating with our partners and clients in the greater Houston area to deliver value and results.”
