Q5 names new North America lead amid continental expansion

Juliet Scott-Croxford has been appointed as the new president of Q5’s North America wing. She will now lead the UK-headquartered consultancy’s next phase of growth in the region.

Olly Purnell, managing partner at Q5, said, "Juliet brings exactly the kind of experience organisations are looking for right now. Her perspective will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business and support clients through increasingly complex transformation challenges."

According to the firm’s global boss, Scott-Croxford’s career spans sectors that are “being reshaped in real time by digital innovation, changing consumer behaviour, AI and deep structural change”. This means her track record of delivering commercial results and building high-performing organisations through operational change makes her “exceptionally well placed to lead the next phase of growth for Q5 in North America.”

Founded during the 2009 financial crisis, Q5 Partners has since grown from its UK origins to span Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. The firm has more than 300 specialists stationed across offices in London, Leeds, Cardiff, Riyadh, Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong, New York, and Dallas – with particular focus on growth in the US in recent years.

As Q5 looks to continue this expansion, Scott-Croxford will now lead Q5’s North American growth strategy alongside the leadership team. Initially centring on those New York and Houston hubs, she will help broaden the firm’s presence across media, consumer, energy and financial services sectors.

Previous experience

Prior to joining, Scott-Croxford was president of Brompton Americas. Her time there similarly saw responsible for growing revenue, increasing market share and strengthening profitability, while establishing the brand as the leading premium folding bicycle company in North America. Earlier she also held senior leadership roles across media and publishing, including CEO of Worth Media, and leadership positions at Guardian Media Group, where she led international expansion, commercial transformation, audience growth and strategic partnerships.

Speaking on her new challenge, she said, “The biggest challenge facing leaders today isn’t adopting AI, it’s redesigning organisations so people and technology can create value together. I’m excited to be joining Q5 at such an important moment. What attracted me was the firm’s entrepreneurial spirit, its reputation for helping leaders tackle complex challenges and its focus on combining strategy with practical delivery.”

Scott-Croxford succeeds Claire Markwardt, who has led Q5’s North American business since 2022 and will support a smooth leadership transition before stepping down later this year. She will continue to work with the company in “an advisory capacity”.

In a statement from the firm, Purnell also thanked Markwardt for her “outstanding contribution since joining Q5 in 2022” – noting that her leadership has played “an important role in establishing and growing our North American business”.
