German consultancy bdg has further grown its UK footprint, with the addition of its third British office. The start of 2023 sees bdg rolling out a locale in Preston – while it plans for further European expansion in the coming months.

Standing for ‘better decisions group’, bdg is a consulting firm specialised in corporate performance management and business intelligence. A long-standing partner of various providers of business intelligence software such as Jedox, Board and SAP, it works for a range of household named like Siemens, KFC, JDWilliams, 1&1 and Zalando.

In the last decade, bdg delivered more than a dozen projects in the UK, and this made Britain its natural first step for European expansion. In late 2021, the firm launched a presence in Peterborough, following it up with a second hub in the East of England by launching an office in Norwich.

Now, bdg has ventured to England’s North-West, to launch its third locale – an operation in Preston. The third UK office will allow bdg to continue to deliver work for clients across the country, and ensure that it can continue to attract talent, developing its team in another part of the UK.

A statement from bdg’s UK Head, Tom Owen, noted, “Over the last three years the firm has continued to deliver a high number of projects in the UK and Germany. With the ever-changing nature over the past three-year period, we have changeable and dynamic work practices to suit our client and staff requirements. bdg UK continues to grow rapidly with triple digit growth this year and now we have again expanded within the UK with our new Preston office.”

With the North-West boasting a growing technology ecosystem, bdg is the latest in a long list of consulting firms to launch a presence there. These range from international professional services giants such as KPMG and Deloitte, to mid-market operators like Theta Global Advisors.

Meanwhile, following the success of its new UK wing, bdg is also weighing up new ventures in other European markets. The firm has also confirmed that it is looking to open up in Switzerland in the first half of 2023.
