Professional services firm Theta Global Advisors is launching a new office in Manchester. The regional locale will provide expertise for M&A, IPOs and accounting across the North West of England.

Founded by former KPMG and PwC professional Chris Biggs in 2016, Theta Global Advisors specialises in deal advisory work, as well as complex accounting and financial reporting matters. With the current merger and acquisitions (M&A) boom showing no signs of slowing in the UK, Theta is in a period of rapid growth itself, helping businesses with M&As, IPOs and other deals.

Now, as the firm looks to build on this expansion, and meet the heightened demand it is experiencing across Britain, Theta has announced the opening of a new regional office in Manchester.

The new office will work alongside staff in the existing office based in West London offering a local service to a growing population of innovative and fast growing businesses in the North-West.

Chris Biggs, partner at consultancy and accounting disruptor Theta Global Advisors commented, "Myself and the entire team at Theta are incredibly excited to be opening this new office in Manchester, which will be a big step in our growth and expansion… This move will provide world leading expertise to the ever growing ecosystem of businesses in the region which previously has been focused on London. Having this on the door step will be a key step to helping growing firms ensure they are ready for the next challenge, be that IPO, raising finance or acquisition.”

Record numbers of entrepreneurs have flocked to the North West in the last year, with over 43,000 businesses founded in the region in 2020/21 alone – a 19% increase on the year before. The North West is also home to six of the UK's 14 digital Unicorns, demonstrating the vital need for the kind of infrastructure that a growing business, with IPO or M&A in its sights, has for world leading accounting and financial advisory services, which will be key to long-term scale and success.

As well as helping Theta better engage clients based in this disruptive local market, the launch of its Manchester office also comes as a key part of its headcount expansion plans. With the thriving technological sector, the office in Manchester will also have improved access to locally based talent from said market.
