Crowe promotes Justin Elks to Risk Consulting Partner
Justin Elks has been promoted to Partner in Crowe’s London risk consulting practice. Nigel Bostock, Chief Executive of Crowe, noted that the new Partner is “a great asset to his team and the wider firm.”
He went on, “I know that Justin’s ESG and climate expertise will be invaluable to those clients; as will his passion for improving how the strategy, risk management, governance, processes and cultures of businesses work together to deliver value in complex business and regulatory environments.”
According to Bostock, Crowe is currently seeing a growing demand for support from clients who want to do more to help tackle the challenges facing society and the planet. Elks specialises in, risk, resilience, ESG and climate, and governance work. This experience will prove vital, as he looks to help businesses to create sustainable solutions, add value and make a difference in complex regulatory environments.
Elks first joined Crowe in 2016, working as a Managing Director and UK ERM and Insurance Lead in the following years. He arrived after a diverse career in industry and consulting. Having spent a decade in auditing with firms like Deloitte and Barclays, he held a succession of senior risk roles with Friends Provident. Immediately before his time with Crow, he was a Director with management consultancy BaxterBruce.
He is a respected leader in the ERM and risk space, and is currently Co-Chair of the ERM in Insurance Special Interest Group with the Institute of Risk Management. He was also awarded Advisor of the Year by the CIR Business Continuity Awards 2020 for his pioneering work on operational resilience.
Speaking as Crowe’s new Risk Consulting Partner, Elks commented, “I look forward to continuing to work with our fantastic team to develop and grow our risk consulting practice – working in partnership to help our clients enhance strategy, risk and governance, build resilience, master data, deliver transformation and put sustainability at the heart of their organisations."
Crowe itself received an award nod earlier in the year, from InsuranceERM. The firm was named Risk Consultancy of the Year award for the second consecutive year in 2021 as a result of its work on operational resilience, ESG and sustainability, and climate change risks and opportunities.
Earlier in the autumn, Crowe announced two further partners in its UK wing. Rob Janering and Stuart Buglass both stepped up from their previous director roles.
