Crowe appoints Stuart Buglass and Rob Janering as partners
Crowe has announced the promotion of two new partners. Rob Janering and Stuart Buglass both step up from their previous director roles.
Nigel Bostock, Chief Executive of Crowe UK, commented, “It is with great pleasure that we welcome Stuart and Rob to the partnership. Both are key assets to their respective teams, and they bring a wealth of experience to these roles. It is fantastic to see yet another cohort of partners coming from within the firm, emphasising both our recent growth and our commitment to developing our own people as they progress in their careers. I look forward to the continued value they will bring for our clients in their new roles as partners.”
Rob Janering joined Crowe in June 2020 and has extensive prior experience as a VAT professional spanning almost two decades. He started his career with HMRC before taking on roles Deloitte and Moore Stephens, as well as an industry role with Sony Pictures. Since joining Crowe, Janering has focused on helping clients to manage the key indirect tax challenges affecting businesses in the post-Brexit period. In his new role he will lead nationally on VAT matters within the retail and e-commerce, manufacturing and TMT sectors. His appointment as a corporate VAT partner bolsters Crowe’s corporate VAT offering, now comprises 25 people in the UK, giving the firm an even greater foothold in the corporate market.
Speaking on becoming a Corporate VAT Partner, Janering said, “I am delighted to be joining the partnership at Crowe and look forward to continuing with helping our clients as they navigate the evolving indirect taxes landscape, particularly those challenges which have been left in the wake of Brexit, the pandemic and HMRC’s Making Tax Digital agenda. We’ve worked hard here at Crowe and I’m proud of the efforts we have made to expand our corporate VAT offering so we can help on key VAT and Customs matters that are increasingly on the radar of management teams at businesses, ranging from SMEs up to listed entities”.
Stuart Buglass joins the partnership to lead the firm’s HR Advisory team. He joined Crowe’s Cheltenham office in 2018 and has amassed more than 20 years of relevant HR consultancy experience, including at leading consultancies and in-house as a HR Consultant for Lloyds TSB, where he supported the head office and branch network.
In that capacity, he has helped to quickly establish a core team of HR specialists that provide a full suite of HR services to a wide range of UK and international clients, at a crucial stage in the attraction and retention of talent. His promotion underlines the firm’s commitment to providing a market-leading HR service.
Buglass said of his promotion to HR Advisory Partner, “I am thrilled by this promotion and the opportunity to continue growing and contributing to Crowe’s market leading HR advisory practice. These issues are increasingly becoming a priority for businesses, particularly as a new generation of employees has reset the psychological contract with employers with heightened expectations and motivations. The landscape continues to change, and I look forward to helping our clients to overcome the new challenges around recruitment, retention and new working patterns, which have presented themselves in recent months.”
