Capita IT Enterprise Services has been appointed by the Transport for London to its IT Solutions Framework. Capita will provide, among others, consultancy, business transformation, development and design to the public body.

Transport for London (TfL) is the main body overseeing public transportation issues in the greater London area. It runs the London Underground; it is responsible for a variety of surface transport, including the red buses; and co-ordinates with the operators that provide National Rail. It was set up in 2000 following Greater London Authority Act 1999.

IT Solutions Framework
The development of the Transport for London (TfL) IT infrastructure was put up for tender in 2014 under the ‘IT Solutions Framework’. The IT Solutions Framework is a framework agreement for the winning 12 suppliers to provide ICT project delivery services to meet specific requirements, or a full end-to-end project service, for the TfL. The services rendered by the suppliers include (but are not limited to): project management services, consultancy and advice, business change, requirements analysis, design, development, solution build and configuration, testing, product delivery, implementation, transition and training, support and maintenance. The framework period is an initial two years, with an option to extend on a 1 year plus 1 year basis to 2019.

TfL appoints Capita to its IT Solutions Framework

The appointment of Capita IT Enterprise Services as one of the 12 providers will see the firm provide services that include consultancy, business transformation, development, design, advice, training and implementation. “Our appointment on TfL’s new IT framework means that we will be able to bid for work to provide them with IT infrastructure delivery and transformation across their entire business,” comments Peter Hands, Executive Director of Capita IT Enterprise Services. “We have a long-standing and productive relationship with Transport for London, and are currently working with them on projects like the new congestion charging system. We look forward to working with them as part of this Framework.”

For Capita, this is the second framework agreement in a short time span. Just recently, the consulting firm was assigned to the Education Framework Agreement by the Crown Commercial Service.
