CCS assigns Capita to Education Framework Agreement
Capita Managed IT Solutions has been appointed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) to the national ICT Services for Education Framework Agreement. The agreement provides Capita the opportunity to bid to deliver technological solutions to educational establishments’ needs with a total estimated value of £300 million.
The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is a trading fund that connects together policy, advice and direct buying to facilitate private services to the public sector with the aim of delivering savings for taxpayers. The CCS, among other things, seeks to procure common goods and services, so public sector organisations with similar needs achieve value by buying as a single customer, as well as providing commercial advice to government departments.
ICT Services for Education Framework Agreement
The agreement has been set up by the CCS to provide educational bodies such as academies, maintained schools, free schools and higher education organisations easy access to suppliers with the right ICT capabilities to meet their needs, allowing them to obtain ICT goods and services tailored for their specific needs. The service covers a full range of ICT products and services operated by educational institutions, offered by 21 suppliers.
Through the appointment, Capita Managed IT Solutions will be able to deliver its ICT services to educational establishments across the UK, with more than £300 million up for grabs to providers appointed to the commercial vehicle of the CCS over the coming four years. Capita will bid to provide services, networks, software, internet, cabling and data services, and will seek to identify innovative solutions for the specific needs of individual schools and institutions.
“The team at Capita is looking forward to working with schools to simplify the procurement process, understand their specific needs and deliver and support first class technology solutions,” comments Ed Brown, Managing Director at Capita Managed IT Solutions. “This commercial vehicle is a fantastic new way for schools across the country to ensure that they can find the right solution for their needs. Capita’s scale and experience in the education technology market means that it is well placed to deliver the breadth of work on this agreement. Its track record of delivering innovative services for schools speaks for itself.”
The consulting firm currently provides managed technology solutions for over 1,100 schools in Northern Ireland and works with education establishments across the UK.
