Tim Wainwright joins Duff & Phelps as Managing Director
Duff & Phelps has announced the appointment of Tim Wainwright as a Managing Director. Wainwright joins the firm in its transaction advisory services practice, based in London.
Duff & Phelps’ transaction advisory services wing works to support clients throughout the dealmaking process, throughout every facet of the transaction. Combining market data with fundamental financial competencies, the practice support critical decision making with essential advice and information. The firm provides companies with the information they need to make informed business decisions for buy- and sell-side transaction engagements, refinancings and other transactions.
As Duff & Phelps looks to strengthen its transaction advisory services ahead of a busy 2021, the firm has appointed Tim Wainwright as a Managing Director. Based in the London office, he brings over 20 years of experience to the role, working with private equity and corporate clients to advise on acquisitions, divestments, M&A and post-merger integration, value creation and transformation. He arrives from Eight Advisory, where he advised clients on complex transactions and business transformation, leveraging operational and IT due diligence to deliver value. He was also part of EY’s transaction advisory services practice and led the industrial products sector group.
At Duff & Phelps, Wainwright will work with private equity and corporate clients providing comprehensive support throughout mergers and acquisitions, including operational and IT due diligence, value creation, carveout and integration planning. He will work alongside Paul Martin, Managing Director and Leader of Duff & Phelps’ UK transaction advisory services practice, and will help continue expanding the firm’s operational and technology capabilities within Duff & Phelps’ comprehensive solution.

The news follows the arrival of Ven Balakrishnan in Duff & Phelps as the firm’s new global leader for its strategy and commercial due diligence offering. The former EY and Grant Thornton Partner brought over 25 years of experience to the role. As the firm’s transaction advisory practice continues to grow, the firm stated “having someone of his calibre” would enable Duff & Phelps to “forge new partnerships and find greater opportunities.”
