Professional services firm Capco has appointed Somnath Ghosh as Partner in its insurance practice. Ghosh brings more than two decades of experience to the role, including specific expertise on business transformation and programme management.

Like every other segment of the economy, insurance faces a number of core challenges that will be very familiar to most firms. These include digital transformation, optimising customer service and ways of working, extracting greater insights and value from data, and mitigating the impact of regulatory change and rising cost pressures. As the firm looks to meet heightened client demand in response to these hurdles, Capco has appointed Somnath Ghosh as a Partner.

With more than 20 years of experience in financial services and consulting, Somnath brings specific expertise in IT strategy, business transformation, programme management and global delivery. Having commenced his career at PwC, before taking up senior roles with WiproDeloitte and KPMG, before spending four years at Accenture. There, he was latterly a Managing Director, specialising in strategy, design and implementation of finance and risk transformations and data management solutions.

Capco’s Insurance practice looks to add value to its clients across the business areas of property and casualty, life and retirement, reinsurance, employee benefits and distribution. These include brokers, MGAs, agents and wholesalers, all of whom rely on Capco’s expertise in innovating to adapt to the changing environment, with a wide range of strategy and implementation offerings, from digital to core systems and data science.

Mike Ethelston, UK Managing Partner at Capco, stated, “We are committed to enhancing the capabilities and talent within our Insurance practice, with a particular focus on leveraging our long-standing strengths around digital and data. That commitment to growing the Insurance practice underlines our continued investment in broadening our consulting footprint within the UK financial services sector. The extensive scoping and implementation work we have already conducted on behalf of our bank clients in preparation for the transition to a post-Brexit operating environment is a further value-add we can offer to insurance companies.”
