Capco appoints Deep Patel as leader of payments practice
Global consulting firm Capco has appointed Deep Patel as leader of its payments practice in the UK market. He brings more than two decades of experience in the consulting industry to the role.
Based in London, Patel will lead the firm’s payments offerings to clients including banks, payment service providers, merchants, fintechs, and regulators. He joins Capco from Deloitte, where he spent over twenty years and latterly was a director in its consulting business and financial services practice.
Patel possesses extensive expertise across large-scale, technology-enabled transformation in the payments and transaction banking space. His experience spans the iteration and delivery of new product propositions, vendor platform implementations, regulatory and compliance transformations – including migration to ISO 20022 – and complex banking integrations.
“We are pleased to announce Deep Patel as our new UK payments lead,” said Chris Moore, director at Capco. “He will play a key role in shaping our core payments proposition and scaling our practice and client base across the UK.”
“Deep joins us at a pivotal time in the payments industry as firms begin to think ahead to the potential of AI in the payments journey, and the impact of upcoming industry regulation and initiatives such as PSD3 and the National Payments Vision on retail and corporate payments. His knowledge and collaborative approach will be a great addition to our business.”
The appointment comes hot on the heels of Capco being named one of the UK’s leading consultancies in the payments landscape for 2026. The firm’s Payments practice operates at the forefront of the industry – the UK team works together with Capco’s teams around the world, as well as with parent Wipro for tech-enabled transformations.
