Management consulting firm Elixirr has announced that Nick Willott has joined its team as Partner, Finance Director and Company Secretary. A former Deloitte Director, Willott brings almost 30 years of professional experience to the challenger consultancy, as it looks to build for growth in spite of tough global economic conditions.

Stephen Newton, Founder and CEO at Elixirr, said, “I’m really excited to have Nick as part of the team… With experience leading and advising finance functions in organisations across UK, America and Australia, Nick brings invaluable expertise to the team. I’m looking forward to seeing how he will help us to drive our business and exceed our growth plans.”

With extensive experience in finance in a FTSE 250 company plus experience in corporate finance, M&A, restructuring and turnarounds, audit and accountancy, Willott arrives in time to bolster Elixirr’s ambitious growth plans for the near future. Having spent his career in senior finance roles, Willott was most recently the Finance Director at Thomas Cook Money – a brand which Elixirr partnered with Thomas Cook to create in 2018, with the aim of disrupting the holiday financial services industry.

During his time with Thomas Cook Money, Willott facilitated the build of an independent B2B insurance business that trades profitably today, launched multiple new digital products and had profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for £1 billion in sales. Prior to this, Willott held other senior finance roles at Thomas Cook Group including UK Finance Director for FP&A, Costs and Finance Transformation in a £2bn revenue business. Earlier in his career, he worked as M&A Advisory Director at Deloitte and Associate Director at a restructuring and private equity firm, both in Sydney, Australia.

On his appointment, Willott stated, “It’s really exciting to be joining such a unique, ambitious and fast-growing firm. Having spent the last few years creating a Challenger Bank, I’m really looking forward to now being part of the Challenger Consultancy. With Elixirr’s growth plans in progress, this is clearly a very exciting time for the firm, and I can’t wait to see how I can contribute to our success over the coming years.”

Formed in the UK in 2009, Elixirr quickly expanded across multiple geographies to become an organisation of 130 people working across 16 industries and over 25 countries. Earlier in 2020, the firm installed Simon Retter as Non-Executive Corporate Finance, and promoted Daniel Lemcke to Partner, working on capital market, wealth, treasury and M&A strategy support.
