Rob Armstrong joins Restructuring practice of Duff & Phelps
Former Deloitte and RSM expert Rob Armstrong has joined Duff & Phelps as a Managing Director in the firm’s Global Restructuring Advisory practice. With expertise in insolvency litigation, misfeasance and asset recovery, Armstrong brings more than 15 years of experience to the role.
Commenting on his new challenge, Armstrong said, he was primarily attracted to Duff & Phelps by its strong presence in the US, the Caribbean, and its growing footprint across Europe and Asia. Alongside its international authority, he also stated that being able to draw on other service lines, such as corporate investigations and risk mitigation through Kroll, means he would be able to draw on experts across multiple geographies and skill sets to deliver effective solutions to clients.
"Joining Duff & Phelps is an exciting opportunity for me to be part of an international organisation that will enable me to establish and build a multi-jurisdictional contentious insolvency practice,” Armstrong added.
Armstrong has over 15 years of insolvency experience assisting clients with allegations of fraud, misfeasance and other financial misconduct or improper behavior. He specialises in contentious insolvency litigation, providing solutions to creditors and other stakeholders to recover assets both in the UK and globally. He leads complex insolvency appointments, including provisional liquidations, high-profile bankruptcies, corporate and personal fraud investigations and pursuing directors for misfeasance.
David Whitehouse, Managing Director and Head of the UK Restructuring Advisory practice, stated, “We are delighted that Rob has joined Duff & Phelps, bringing with him tremendous cross-border, multi-jurisdictional contentious insolvency litigation experience. This is an important strategic step for the business, and his knowledge and experience will be invaluable to the global restructuring team and the broader business.”
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Armstrong spent three years with RSM, where he was a Director in the firm’s Special Investigations Team. Before that, he held positions in the insolvency divisions of Deloitte, Baker Tilly and KSA, having obtained a BA in Management Studies from the University of Leicester.
