Dave Riley joins corporate finance team of Crowe

Following a three-decade-long career in professional services and private equity, Dave Riley has joined the corporate finance wing of Crowe in the UK. Earlier in his career, Riley spent time as a senior employee with Big Four firm EY and audit and advisory firm Grant Thornton.

National audit, tax, advisory and risk firm Crowe UK is a member of Crowe Global, which currently boasts a total global workforce of more than 36,000 professionals. The network has more than 200 firms across 130 countries who have been working with a multinational client base across borders for over 100 years but in that time it has constantly evolved. In 2018 this saw the network move to a unified brand ahead of Crowe UK’s 175th anniversary.

Crowe in the UK has also been undergoing a series of developments in 2019. Earlier in the year, Crowe expanded its corporate finance offering in the UK by appointing Mark Allen as a Partner in the division, and added another Partner to its non-profit wing, with the promotion of Tara Westcott.

Now, Crowe UK has added another senior team member to its ranks, with the appointment of Dave Riley as Partner in its corporate finance practice. Riley will be leading on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), debt advisory and due diligence in the firm’s Manchester office, a region that has a growing private equity community in connection with the Government’s on-going Northern Powerhouse project. Riley will work alongside Manchester’s Office Managing Partner Michael Jayson and the rest of the Corporate Finance Partner team nationally.

Riley brings over 30 years of experience in professional services to the firm, having held a number of senior roles in the industry over his career. Having commenced his time in the sector with three years as an Accountant at Arthur Andersen, before spending nine years as a Debt Advisory and Restructuring Director with Big Four firm EY. Riley then spent close to 10 years with Grant Thornton as a Debt Advisory and Restructuring Partner, ahead of taking a string of Partner roles in the UK’s private equity space.

Riley said of his appointment, “I am delighted to join the partner team at Crowe. The opportunity to grow the Crowe advisory business is substantial and the North West market place is a hot bed of corporate finance activity. My focus will be to provide services across the whole breadth of the advisory spectrum, including lead advisory, debt advisory, and performance improvement.”
