Mansion House Consulting has appointed cybersecurity expert Alan Pratt to its London team. Pratt joins the firm following three decades in the public sector, having most recently been Chief Security, Science and Innovation Officer with the Home Office.

IT and technology consultancy Mansion House Consulting (MHC) was one of Europe’s ten fastest growing consultancies last year. The UK-based firm caters to clients in the Financial Services sector from its offices in London, New York, Frankfurt, Singapore and Bangalore. Since the company was founded in 2009, it has spread across the world quickly, and now employs over 300 people worldwide, while ranking as one of the top 600 fastest growing companies in all industries, boasting growth of 198% and revenues of €49.3 million.

One of the firm’s key services is cybersecurity consulting, which has become a major source of demand in the consulting industry in recent times. 2018 saw Britain stung by 140% more cyber-attacks than the year previous, something driven chiefly by a global increase in botnet activity. This increase in attack traffic also caused nearly 40% of small and medium enterprises in the UK to experience at least one cybersecurity incident. In this environment, MHC has looked to strengthen its cybersecurity offering with a senior hire to its London office.

Alan Pratt has been hired by the firm as Cyber Delivery Director and Partner, and will work from MHC’s headquarters to help the firm’s top-level global banking clients develop their cyber innovation, strategy, partnership and delivery. Pratt brings vast experience to the role, having spent the last decade safeguarding sensitive business information relating to national security and financial services. He will also have a leading advisory role focusing on the learning and development of MHC staff within its cybersecurity practice.

Pratt said, “After a fantastic 30 years leading and transforming technology and security in Government, I am delighted to be joining Mansion House Consulting to drive cyber innovation, strategy, partnership and delivery in global financial services organisations and MHC.”

Until recently, Pratt served as Chief Security Officer for eleven Government departments, and Chief Science and Innovation Officer at the UK Home Office. He had board level responsibility across Government for transforming and delivering personnel, physical and cyber security, and for science, technology, innovation and regulation. Previously he was the Director of technology labs, led major programmes and developed world leading technology to combat organised crime.

Commenting on the news, CEO Gerard Kenny said, “We are absolutely thrilled to have Alan on board to lead our Cyber Security delivery across our Tier 1 banking clients, and we are particularly thrilled to have someone of Alan’s background and calibre join the MHC team. We are committed to develop MHC’s cyber capabilities and related offerings.”
