Paddy Lewis joins financial services consultancy Sionic
Financial services consulting firm Sionic has appointed Paddy Lewis as a Partner in its wealth management and private banking wing. Lewis brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the role, having most recently been Head of Investment Platforms and Solutions at Swiss bank UBS.
In April, New York-based Sionic Advisors merged with London-based Catalyst Development, backed by investment from private equity firm Livingbridge. The two firms had a similar employee footprint (160 employees) and specialisation, focusing on advisory offerings to the financial services industry – including strategy & operations, risk & regulatory compliance, technology, and change management. Following the merger of the financial services sector consultancies, the combined firm rebranded as Sionic, while announcing that former Sionic Advisors CEO Craig Sher would lead the refreshed firm.
Now, Sionic has accelerated its growth across financial services with the appointment of five internationally-known Partners to its specialist practices in North America, Europe and Asia. In Switzerland, Philip Biber has been promoted, along with Charles Bokman in Singapore and Robert Cranmer in Canada, while Manoj Rane has joined the firm in India.
In Sionic’s UK and Jersey wing, meanwhile, Paddy Lewis has arrived from UBS Management. He takes up the position of Partner in Sionic’s wealth management and private banking Practice, based out of London. Commanding more than three decades of experience, Sionic believes Lewis is well-placed to advise firms on a broad range of topics affecting both larger private banks and smaller wealth management organisations.
Sionic’s wealth management and private banking wing hosts a variety of experts who have worked in the industry, bringing specialism born of real experience to clients. The practice provides professional programme management and change delivery services using knowledgeable teams to give fast, effective results, as well as unique expertise in organisation design and people development to help clients increase business effectiveness, enhance change outcomes and embed sustainable improvement.
An expert in asset and wealth management, Lewis was formerly Head of Investment Platforms and Solutions for UBS Wealth Management, a firm he spent 14 years with. Before that he spent two years as an Investment Director & Client Advisor with Laing & Cruickshank, four years as Client Advisor (Vice President) at Merrill Lynch, and five years as Discretionary Portfolio Manager – Head of Marketing at Wise Speke.
Commented on his arrival, Sionic CEO Craig Sher said, "We only hire the best in the business, and I am delighted to welcome Paddy. I also look forward to announcing more new arrivals and new bases in the US, Europe and Asia shortly, as Sionic continues to expand worldwide.”
Meanwhile, in Asia, Sionic has admitted Charles Bokman and Manoj Rane to its partnership.
