Sionic names Sascha Calisan head of specialist distribution
Sascha Calisan has joined global financial services consultancy Sionic as a Director in its Asset Management practice. She will lead the firm’s specialist distribution services capability, bringing a quarter-century of experience to the role.
Sionic is a global consultancy specialising in financial services work, with a staff base of 450 based across North America, Europe and Asia. The company specialises in providing independent advice and professional services to banks and other financial services providers, including distribution services work. This includes helping clients tackle strategic and operating model challenges in distribution and client experience.
The appointment of Sascha Calisan will be a major boost to this service line. She will now work to help the firm’s customers improve their customer experience (CX), using digital technology to improve retention and also boost sales.
Ashley Sheen, Sionic Managing Partner in the Asset Management Practice commented, “We are delighted that Sascha is joining our team. She is highly regarded, experienced and well networked, and joins at an exciting time, as we continue to partner with our colleagues in the Davies Group, to bring their award-winning CX digital technology solutions to the Asset Management industry. We are all excited to be working with her.”
Calisan began her career in 1996 at Morgan Stanley, before moving to RBC in 1998 then to Northern Trust in 2008, where she latterly served as Head of Fund Distribution Services until her move to Sionic. Throughout her 25-year career, she has shaped distribution from concept into suites of consulting services and tools, leveraging the best of breed vendors and enhancing asset managers’ asset raising capability, and their own clients’ experience. She has also worked consultatively with multiple asset managers to help them make informed decisions to raise assets and generate revenue.
Speaking on her new challenge, Calisan added, “I’m a problem solver. Throughout my career, I’ve brought together people and ideas to solve common challenges. The fact that distribution is typically a very fractured part of our industry offers a real opportunity to think laterally, reduce complexity, improve efficiency and give clients (and their clients) the sophisticated simplicity they increasingly expect. And when I was thinking about ‘what next’, that opportunity, combined with the breadth of Sionic’s client base and expertise proved irresistible!”
