International M&A advisory firm Equiteq has appointed a new Director in its London-based strategic advisory team. Guido Boero brings a decade of experience to the role, having previously been a Project Leader at BCG, among other positions in the consulting industry.

With due diligence and a number of other issues likely to become more complex across Europe and the world as Brexit approaches, it has become increasingly important for firms leveraging external expertise to weigh up mergers and acquisitions in the consulting industry. In the midst of this, Equiteq, an international M&A advisory firm to the professional services industry, has been preparing for a period of high demand.

In the last quarter of 2018, this saw Equiteq announce that Nick Jones had joined the firm as a Managing Director, Head of Europe and Global Head of M&A. Then in May 2019, Jerome Glynn-Smith, formerly European Director at Avendus Capital, joined Equiteq’s London office as a Director. Now, as Equiteq looks to further push its rapidly expanding investment banking practice on the continent, the firm has installed another new Director in its London office.

Guido Boero has been appointed as a Director in Equiteq’s strategic advisory team. Based in the UK capital, Boero will be focusing on advising Private Equity clients on commercial and operational due-diligence and on operational value creation in their portfolio companies in preparation for a successful exit.

Having worked as an independent, and with major brands such as Boston Consulting Group and Schlumberger, Boero has extensive experience in helping clients identify opportunities and risks when buying new businesses. Prior to joining Equiteq, Boero was running his own consulting practice providing investment and strategic advisory and interim management services. Prior to this, he spent four years as a Principal in energy advisory firm Schlumberger Business Consulting, after a spell as a Project Leader at BCG.

Commenting on his new role, Boero said, “The growth trajectory Equiteq has experienced over the years is a true testament of the distinctiveness of the value proposition we bring to clients investing or operating in the Knowledge Economy. I am truly excited to be joining a talented, ambitious and diverse team able to deliver M&A Execution, Strategic Advisory and Market Intelligence, offering clients a seamless experience.”

Nick Jones, Global Head of M&A at Equiteq, added, “We are delighted to welcome Guido to the team. Equiteq continues to grow its full-service advisory offer to our clients – Guido has a wealth of experience to bring to our private equity client base, leveraging Equiteq’s sector insights to add value across the life cycle of private equity owned assets.”
