Equiteq wins M&A award for guiding sale of OEE Consulting
International merger and acquisition specialist Equiteq has been selected for a prestigious award at the annual M&A Advisor Awards. Equiteq scooped Professional Services Deal of the Year, thanks to its role advising OEE Consulting on its merger with French professional services firm Webhelp.
Founded in 1997, Oxford-headquartered OEE Consulting has over 130 consultants and trainers working across multiple disciplines and languages to help clients create seamless customer journeys, with deep financial services expertise. The firm’s strong position in the UK and global markets made it a prime target for acquisition, and as a result, November 2018 saw French professional services firm Webhelp complete a deal to merge OEE with its consulting subsidiary.
Equiteq, a firm which specialises in advising on mergers and acquisitions in the professional services industry, advised OEE Consulting on the move. Remarking on the merger at the time, Gabriela Silvestris, Managing Director of M&A in Equiteq’s London office, said OEE had “most certainly built a phenomenal business” and predicted that as part of of Webhelp’s complementary consulting wing, the combined team would be able to “accelerate their next phase of growth.”
Now, half a year later, Equiteq has been handed a gong for its participation in the deal at the M&A Advisor Awards. Equiteq scooped Professional Services Deal of the Year, and will receive the prize at the 11th annual edition of the international event, which will be hosted at a black-tie gala on June 5 in New York.
Commending Equiteq, Roger Aguinaldo, Founder of The M&A Advisor said, “We have been honouring the leading international M&A transactions, companies, and dealmakers since 2009. This year, Equiteq was chosen from hundreds of participating firms to receive this award. They’ve earned this accolade by standing out in a field of very impressive competitors. Truly, Equiteq represents the very best of our international M&A industry.”
Gabriela Silvestris, who supported the shareholders of OEE Consulting throughout the deal process added, “Our thanks go to OEE, who gave us the opportunity to work with them and to help realize the value they had built in their impressive business.”
The ceremony in midtown Manhattan’s New York Athletic Club will see 10 other consultancies honoured alongside Equiteq. The other members of the industry to be lauded are PwC, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, FTI Consulting, Berkeley Research Group, Bain & Company, Drake Star Partners, AlixPartners, and Alvarez & Marsal.
