Equiteq appoints Jerome Glynn-Smith as Director
Jerome Glynn-Smith, formerly European Director at Avendus Capital, has joined Equiteq’s London office as a Director. Glynn Smith brings a decade of experience in the mergers and acquisitions sector to the role, as Equiteq looks to strengthen its European investment banking practice.
With due diligence and a number of other issues likely to become more complex across Europe and the world as Brexit approaches, it has become increasingly important for firms leveraging external expertise to weigh up mergers and acquisitions in the consulting industry. In the midst of this, Equiteq, an international M&A advisory firm to the professional services industry, has been preparing for a period of high demand.
In the last quarter of 2018, this saw Equiteq announce that Nick Jones had joined the firm as a Managing Director, Head of Europe and Global Head of M&A. The London-based professional was installed to focus on leading Equiteq’s growing practice in Europe, where the firm has experienced significant growth in recent times, having expanded its office footprint with another location in Paris. Now, as Equiteq looks to further push its rapidly expanding investment banking practice on the continent, the firm has installed a new Director in its London office.
Jerome Glynn-Smith will lead on Equiteq’s investment banking project delivery, as well as actively engage with the community of entrepreneurs and private equity transactors in the technology and services economy. He brings extensive experience in completing transactions with cross-border entrepreneurs, growth equity funds, as well as major strategic acquirers in various technology & services sub-sectors including digital services, ICT, outsourcing, software services, tech-enabled services, data analytics and infrastructure services.
Prior to his arrival at Equiteq, Glynn-Smith spent seven years with Avendus Capital’s investment banking business in Europe. He was a member of the European founding team and board of Directors at the technology and outsourcing focussed M&A advisory practice, following two years with Deloitte, where he was latterly a Senior Analyst, and an M&A Lead Advisory. He also enjoyed brief spells with J.P. Morgan Investment Banking and BNP Paribas early in his career.
Commenting on his new challenge, Glynn-Smith said, “As the market is increasingly requiring advisors to leverage outstanding international reach, deep operational and sub-sector domain knowledge supporting M&A delivery, Equiteq offers an excellent integrated platform and network to help clients identify and maximize core components of their value.”
Nick Jones, Global Head of M&A at Equiteq, added, “We are delighted to welcome Jerome on to the platform. Jerome has a wealth of experience in advising clients in IT services where we see real opportunity for Equiteq to gain market share. Jerome brings valuable UK and European private equity relationships that will benefit from Equiteq’s sector-focussed consulting and M&A services.”
