Willis Towers Watson promotes Alexis Faber to Corporate Risk and Broking COO
International professional services firm Willis Towers Watson has appointed long-serving employee, Alexis Faber, as Chief Operating Officer (COO) within its Corporate Risk and Broking segment. Faber, who has been with the firm for around 15 years, will transition from her current role as global head of Financial Lines.
Alexis Faber first arrived at Willis Towers Watson in 2003, and has held a variety of leadership roles with the firm since then. In 2006, she became the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Executive Risks Practice before taking co-leadership of the consultancy’s North American FINEX business in 2012. Two years later, Faber would go on to become Willis Towers Watson’s global head of Financial Lines – a role she vacates in order to accept her latest role at the firm.
Her career has been highlighted for commendation by multiple organisations, and in 2010, Faber was recognised by Business Insurance as a “Woman to Watch”, before in 2017 she was named one of the “Top Women in Insurance” by Reactions magazine. Beyond her work with Willis Towers Watson, Faber is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Memphis Opportunity Scholarship Trust, which aims at sponsoring the education of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Insurance industry incumbents face a plethora of new, potential disruptive, challenges, and Willis Towers Watson is looking to prepare for a subsequent glut of client demand in the sector. Faber’s newly created role will help strengthen the firm’s arm in this respect, and as Corporate Risk and Broking COO, Faber will be responsible for delivering the company’s operating model, as well as implementing a consistent client experience across the segment from sales to claims. In creating a standardised client engagement strategy, Faber will partner with the company’s Risk & Analytics business to ensure that innovation and the full suite of Willis Towers Watson’s analytical models remain core to any offering.
She will also work closely with line of business leaders globally to optimize client products and solutions as well as service delivery across all geographies within Corporate Risk and Broking. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, Faber will report to Todd Jones, global head of Corporate Risk and Broking.
Speaking on Faber’s appointment, Jones said, “Alexis brings tremendous leadership and operational expertise to this role, and she is well positioned to help us enhance our operating model and optimize how we engage with our clients.
