David Miller joins Alvarez & Marsal as Managing Director
Alvarez & Marsal has hired David Miller as Managing Director in its Commercial Restructuring practice. Miller, who joins from the Macquarie Group, brings more than 30 years of restructuring and corporate finance experience to the firm, and will be based in Atlanta.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), David Miller Worked at Macquarie Group, a banking, financial, advisory, investment and funds management services provider, as a Managing Director and Head of Restructuring and Special Situations. Previously, from 2004 until 2007, Miller was a founding member of Giuliani Capital Advisors and one of its Managing Directors; the firm was acquired by the Macquarie Group in 2007. Prior to that, he ran Ernst & Young Corporate Finance’s Atlanta office.
Miller holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Emory University and completed the Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, Organisational Leadership programme developed for EY. Additionally, Miller is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV) holder, and is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).
The appointment sees Miller join A&M as Managing Director in its Commercial Restructuring practice, and is based in the firm’s Atlanta office. The addition brings more than 30 years of experience to the firm, boosting its capacity in reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.

Recent appointments
Alvarez & Marsal has in recent months made a string of senior appointments in the US, including Stuart Greenberg (Financial Industry Advisory Services), Ramin Tabibzadeh (Performance Improvement) and Tim Hufler (Valuation Services). In the UK the business advisory firm recently added former Deloitte partner Ian Tyler to its Treasury practice, while Dubai's team was bolstered by Alaa Oumansour and Marco Vögele.
