Accenture buys majority stake in Japanese digital firm IMJ Corporation

Accenture Interactive has expanded its on the ground presence in Tokyo by taking a majority stake in IMJ Corporation. The organisations will leverage each other's strengths to provide an end-to-end digital services solution for the regional market.

IMJ Corporation (IMJ) was established in 1996 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The company provides clients with a host of digital solutions, including strategic planning, data analytics and web integration services in the digital marketing field. In addition, the company is experienced in digital marketing campaigns and improving customer experiences through digital solutions. The company is led by Shinji Takeuchi, and employs almost 600 people.

Accenture Interactive + IMJ Group

The deal sees Accenture Interactive take a majority stake in IMJ; the value of the transaction has not been disclosed. According to the firm, the partial acquisition improves Accenture Interactive’s local market position in Japan, through a wedding of the firms’ propositions. Through the deal the firm’s will work together to provide end-to-end digital marketing services, leveraging both digital technologies and consulting services.

Last month Accenture acquired Israel-based cybersecurity firm Maglan and German digital consulting firm dgroup.
