Accenture has acquired Germany-based digital transformation and management consultancy dgroup. The acquisition expands the firm’s retail and consumer goods digital consulting capabilities in the German speaking market. Around 60 consultants transfer to Accenture's digital practice, the value of the deal has not been disclosed.

dgroup is a Germany-based management and digital consulting company, founded in 2001. The firm, which in 2013 teamed up with e-commerce agency Mindwyse, provides end-to-end digital transformation consultancy and implementation support to a range of clients. The firm, last year recognised by brand eins (a German business platform) as a top tier consultancy, employs 60 people and has offices in Hamburg and Dusseldorf.

As part of its global strategic focus on expanding its digital transformations expertise, Accenture has acquired dgroup for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will allow the firm to offer a broader range of services to, primarily, retail and consumer goods companies, and bolsters its service portfolio in the area of e-commerce and multi-channel services, online marketing and analytics, application development, IT architecture and project management.

Mathias Gehrckens, co-founder and Managing Partner, dgroup, comments “dgroup has established a reputation for agile approaches to digital transformation and execution in Germany. We are excited to join the global Accenture family and adding our knowledge and expertise to Accenture’s global capabilities. Together we will bring new value to a greater range of clients.”

Earlier this year Accenture acquired OPS Rules, a boutique US analytics consultancy, and Netherlands-based CRMWaypoint, among others.
