Henry Elphick joins Oliver Wyman as a partner for health and life sciences

Henry Elphick has joined Oliver Wyman as a partner in its healthcare and life sciences and private capital practices. Looking ahead, he will have a particular focus on building the firm’s healthcare private capital offering in Europe.

Bringing more than 30 years of experience to the firm, Elphick’s knowhow spans the healthcare investment ecosystem, strategy consulting, investment banking and law. He joins from Mansfield Advisors, where he was executive chair, and previously held roles at Linklaters, Rothschild, UBS and Jefferies.

He is also founder and Deputy Chair of the European Healthcare Investor Association, which represents private capital investors in the sector. He will retain this, and a number of other non-executive roles, including chair of Compass Recruitment Solutions, and healthcare committee member at the British Property Foundation.

Commenting on the move, Elphick said, “Healthcare is a fascinating sector combining structural growth with an extraordinary breadth of subsectors. The world is getting richer and older, healthcare spending is increasing, and scientific innovation across pharma, life sciences, medical devices, software and AI is accelerating the pace of change. Advising clients across these markets requires real insight and depth of knowledge, and provides an incredibly stimulating environment.”

At Oliver Wyman, Elphick will advise investors and healthcare businesses across strategy, M&A and commercial due diligence, supporting clients across the investment lifecycle.

Oliver Wyman is a management consulting firm, with offices in over 70 cities across 30 countries, and employing more than 7,000 professionals globally. The firm has been rapidly expanding, adding more than $1 billion to its annual take from pre-pandemic levels, jumping to $3.4 billion over the past five years.
