Differentis partners with environmental strategist Dr. Jayne Manley
Sunnyhill Consultants founder Dr. Jayne Manley has joined forces with Differentis to embed environmental thinking into its work across land, technology and infrastructure. Manley will work with Differentis’ leadership and consultancy teams, reviewing strategy, proposals, research, and internal decision-making.
The agreement formalises a relationship developed through Differentis’ flagship events. After first meeting at Women in Change, Manley spoke at the management and technology transformation consultancy’s DiffExpo25 in September 2025, and returned for a second DifFest this summer. There, she delivered a keynote on regenerative approaches to technology and intelligent transformation, challenging business and technology leaders to think more broadly about sustainability, responsibility and the environmental pressures attached to change.
Through Sunnyhill Consultants, Manley advises and mentors senior teams across spatial and technology strategy, land use, and environmental resilience, recently working with clients from the government, charity, and company sectors, and increasingly on the environmental implications of AI and digital infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Manley will also help Differentis integrate environmental considerations into the firm’s intelligent transformation approach, so they inform decisions from the outset rather than being treated as a later compliance exercise. She brings more than 30 years’ experience across environmental charities and public bodies, including 12 years as chief executive of Earth Trust and previous strategic roles at Plantlife International and English Nature.
Manley commented, “Differentis stood out to me because it is forward-thinking about both the potential of technology and the responsibility that comes with it… Demand for technology will continue to grow, while scrutiny of its environmental impact is intensifying. The answer is neither to ignore that footprint nor to stop progress, but to understand it and build better solutions from the outset. Over the coming months, I will work with Differentis to embed that thinking across its strategy, proposals and client conversations, making environmental best practice a practical part of transformation.”
The partnership is designed to accelerate the firm’s commitment to environmental best practice at a point when the environmental consequences of technology decisions, from data centre energy and water use to procurement, planning and supply chain resilience, are moving up the boardroom agenda.
The alliance will also support a planned programme of environmental reports over the next 12 months, beginning with a paper examining environmental pressure points across the technology sector building on Manley’s existing research into the environmental impact of UK data centres, co-authored with Dr Ashwin Mehta and Dave King.
