PKF Smith Cooper’s M&A team celebrates record week with five deals closings
The M&A team at PKF Smith Cooper is celebrating an exceptional week, with a record-breaking five mandates successfully completed – and the week not even over yet.
In a cross-channel deal led by Director Tom Joy, the Midlands-based accounting and advisory firm advised the shareholders of Lynco and Multibox (trading as Flexi Stockage) on their sale to Pithos Capital and PGIM. The acquired businesses will operate under the ZebraBox brand in France. The deal marks the firm’s second self-storage deal in 2026.
The M&A team also supported long-standing client Corstorphine & Wright in furthering their expansion plans, helping them secure a refinancing partnership with Metro Bank, who have now replaced Beechbrook Capital as lender. Beechbrook remains involved with the company as an ongoing equity partner.
Claire Spencer, a Partner at PKF Smith Cooper, led a team on the sale of West Transport Group (comprising of William West & Sons, William West Distribution and West Trailer Rentals) to Lockwood Group of Companies, strengthening Lockwood’s market presence in transport and warehousing.
Director David Crump meanwhile advised on the sale of a franchisee of a leading food and beverage brand to another franchisee within the same brand, supporting continued consolidation and growth within the sector.
Rounding off the five deals – and who knows which mandates could still come to a close today or tomorrow – a team led by David Nelson (Senior Partner) and Tom Sinden (Director) assisted a national waste management business on the acquisition of a plant hire specialist, providing the buyers with deal advisory services to successfully complete the transaction.
Commenting on the super busy week, Darren Hodson, Partner and Head of Corporate Finance at PKF Smith Cooper, said: “It has been great to see months of hard work conclude with excellent outcomes achieved for our clients. This string of completions reflects the strength of our pipeline and the breadth of expertise within our Corporate Finance and Transaction and Advisory Services teams.”
In 2025, PKF Smith Cooper advised on deals with a combined value of £400 million, underpinning its position as one of the UK’s leading M&A consultancies. Later this year, the firm is also in the running for the Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year (East Midlands) at the Dealmakers Awards.
