BBGC director Amir Soufizadeh joins leadership of OrbicTrade

AI-powered trade technology OrbicTrade has announced the appointment of Amir Soufizadeh to its leadership team. He will become director, alongside his pre-existing directorship with consulting firm BBGC.

With offices by trading hubs in Singapore and Dubai, OrbicTrade bills itself as an AI-enabled deal capture platform designed for the global commodities market. The platform looks to boost the intelligence of traders with intuitive, keyboard-first forms, voice dictation, and smart email/Chat API integration to capture physical and financial deals across oil, refined products, metals, and agriculture.

According to the firm, it has experienced growing interest from trading and operations teams seeking to modernise front-to-back processes. As a result, OrbicTrade is currently focusing on scaling its enterprise footprint, strengthening delivery and governance models, and deepening integration across the trading technology landscape.

Amir Soufizadeh has joined OrbicTrade’s leadership team, to support its next stage of growth, bringing extensive experience delivering large-scale technology and transformation programmes for global commodity trading organisations.

“As demand for modern, AI-enabled trade capture grows, it’s important we continue to strengthen the experience around the product,” said a spokesperson for OrbicTrade. “Amir’s background in delivering complex trading technology programmes aligns strongly with where OrbicTrade is heading as we scale.”

Soufizadeh is a London-based professional, with a quarter-century of experience in both commodity trading, and management consultancy. Having traded in metals with Standard Metals, and traffic at Glencore, as well as structured commodities with Lehman Brothers, in 2008 he made the leap to advisory work as a manager in risk management with energy company E.ON. Senior roles with Infosys, BJSS and BGGC followed.

BBGC is a privately owned multinational business and technology consultancy firm that operates in six countries across three continents. Soufizadeh remains a director there, and will hold the two directorships at the separate BBGC and OrbicTrade concurrently.

In a statement posted to LinkedIn, Soufizadeh commented, “Alongside my role at BBGC, I’m proud to now be involved with OrbicTrade as director. OrbicTrade is addressing a challenge many commodity trading organisations already recognise: manual trade capture that hasn’t kept pace with how traders actually work. The platform enables commodity-aware, AI-driven trade capture directly from email, chat, ICE and other sources, integrating seamlessly with existing CTRM landscapes.”
