Opus launches new restructuring team in Bermuda
Opus Business Advisory Group has launched a new outpost in Bermuda. The offshore insolvency and restructuring market is rapidly expanding, offering lucrative opportunities for firms catering to clients’ insolvency needs.
The ‘offshore’ market of Caribbean-based tax havens has been attracting a glut of consulting talent in recent years – with large companies and financial operators having flocked to the overseas territories to make the most of their beneficial status. In particular, restructuring firms have been arriving in the market in some numbers, to support clients as they further overhaul their operations there. Alongside the likes of Teneo, Interpath, and Quantuma, Opus Business Advisory Group has now strengthened its offshore presence accordingly.
The launch of a new Bermuda-based office focused on restructuring, insolvency, and forensic accounting comes in response to growing demand for specialist advisory services for mid-market companies in the region. With a strong pipeline of work across insurance, cryptocurrency, and forensic investigations, Opus will play a key role in supporting the region’s business landscape. Its presence also gives confidence to international clients and local business owners, offering transparent exit planning and structured risk mitigation from the outset.
Tim Dolder, managing partner at Opus Business Advisory, said, “This launch marks an exciting new chapter in Opus’ international journey. We’ve always believed in the power of a personal, tailored approach, but with the strength of a broader team behind it. Bermuda offers huge opportunities, and under Valma’s expert leadership, we are perfectly positioned to serve both local businesses and international clients operating in this jurisdiction.”
The new office will be headed by Valma Pipi, subject to approval of the Department of Immigration. She is an experienced insolvency practitioner, with over 12 years of restructuring, advisory and forensic knowhow, including a previous role at Big Four company Deloitte, in Bermuda.
“There is a growing need in Bermuda for insolvency professionals who can offer true specialist advice rather than broader consultancy services,” added Pipi. “We are bringing a fresh, hands-on style to the market; one that is grounded in international standards but deeply attuned to local needs. Clients here are looking for insight, integrity, and access to global best practices, which we are proud to deliver with Opus.”
