Opus Business Advisory strengthens restructuring team with two senior members

Opus Business Advisory has strengthened the senior team of its restructuring business with two new members. Rob McIlroy joins as a director, and Simon Campbell as a partner.

Rob McIlroy has more than 15 years of experience in restructuring and insolvency. Throughout his career, he has worked across a broad range of sectors, including construction, media and professional services, advising businesses, lenders, directors and stakeholders through financially challenging situations.

McIlroy has worked for both boutique and national firms, including FRP Advisory and Moorfields Advisory, gaining experience across the full spectrum of corporate recovery and turnaround work.

At Opus Restructuring & Insolvency, McIlroy will focus on the South East region as a director. He will lead efforts to further establish the firm’s presence across Essex, building relationships with accountants, legal professionals and business owners, while working closely with colleagues across the wider South East network, including the firm’s established presence.

Simon Campbell has been appointed a partner in the Southampton office. He has more than 30 years of experience and joins Opus Restructuring & Insolvency following a decade at Quantuma, where he advised businesses, lenders and stakeholders across a wide range of sectors.

Earlier in his career, he worked for Begbies Traynor and Grant Thornton.

Campbell’s expertise spans early-stage advisory, business and options reviews, and formal insolvency processes. He is particularly well known for his work on complex property matters, including build-outs and fractional investment schemes, supporting lenders, developers and wider property stakeholders.

With around 240 partners and people, Opus Business Advisory has 15 offices across the UK and an office in Bermuda. Its restructuring business was recently ranked among the leading practices in the country.
