Vijay Merchant joins Begbies Traynor as partner
As Begbies Traynor continues to expand its consulting offering in the West Midlands, it has added a new partner to its ranks. Vijay Merchant arrives having spent close to two decades in turnaround and restructuring advisory.
Part of the Begbies Traynor Group, BTG Advisory is a consulting practice which services clients across the UK with their restructuring and turnaround needs. In recent months it has been expanding across England, particularly in the West Midlands, becoming the first port of call for many businesses in distress across Birmingham, Dudley, Stoke, Shropshire.
Vijay Merchant will be based out of the firm’s rapidly-growing Birmingham office, brings almost two decades of experience in business turnaround, restructuring and advisory, with a particular focus on supporting corporates and their stakeholders in stressed and distressed scenarios.

Merchant brings almost 20 years of experience in business turnaround, restructuring and advisory, with a particular focus on supporting corporates and their stakeholders in stressed and distressed scenarios. Advising both lenders, including major banks, specialist banks and non-bank finance providers, corporates and small to medium-sized businesses, he will work to identify and resolve short to medium term cash flow issues for clients, via alternative finance, funds or equity investment as well as considering options for sale or divestment.
