Global consulting and technology services business Davies has appointed James Ferris as the new CEO of its Captive Management business.

Based out of Bermuda, James Ferris will be based in and tasked with leading Davies’ global captives team, with a focus on expanding services and capabilities in the captive management sector.

He succeeds Nick Frost, who will transition to the role of chairman and focus more on strengthening the firm’s proposition for captive owners in the US market.

Ferris brings over 25 years of insurance industry experience to Davies. He joins from BMS, where he served as CEO of capital & risk advisory in Bermuda. Prior to BMS, Ferris spent two decades at PwC, where he was a partner in the advisory team in Bermuda and the United Kingdom.

Steven Crabb, CEO of Insurance Solutions at Davies, stated that the appointment of Ferris reflects the ambitious growth plans of the captive management business, which in turn is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its consulting capabilities.

“James’ extensive experience within the industry will bring new developments and we look forward to seeing his future contributions,” said Crabb.

Headquartered in the UK, Davies is a professional services, consulting and technology company focused on insurance and regulated markets. The firm recently secured $370 million in new credit facilities from Blackstone to fund its growth plans.
