S&W rolls out new regulatory consulting service

Professional services group S&W has launched a new regulatory consulting service in London. The firm has hired Andrew Jacobs as a partner to lead the new offering.
Founded originally as Smith & Williamson, S&W is a fast-growing UK accounting and advisory firm. Most recently under the Evelyn Partners brand, the firm doubled in size before it was part of a managerial carve out in 2024.
Evelyn Partners sold its professional services business to funds advised by Apax Partners, after which it rebranded as S&W, building on the firm’s original heritage. It launched with around 1,800 employees and more than 120 partners operating from 15 towns and cities in the UK and Republic of Ireland, S&W will now expand its services.
Now, as it looks to seize on that momentum, S&W has announced the launch of a new regulatory consulting service. The team will be led by Andrew Jacobs, who arrives having recently a partner at the global legal services firm, DWF, and has more than 20 years of experience in financial services regulation, working across a number of sub-sectors within financial services and adjacent sectors. He was responsible for the launch and growth of the regulatory consulting practice at DWF – which he will now draw upon that experience alongside team members Sarah Jackson and Patrick McGovern.
Guy Swarbreck, head of financial services at S&W, said, “I’m delighted that Andrew’s joined to spearhead S&W’s regulatory consulting team. The team brings practical, industry leading experience of working both as professional advisors and as inhouse senior leaders, and an ethos that fits right in with S&W. I’m excited to work with the team as they really get going and provide excellent service to our clients.”
Based in S&W’s London office, Jacobs will develop the regulatory consulting proposition over the next few months, bringing his extensive financial services regulatory knowledge to existing and new clients, while enhancing the range of expert consulting services that S&W is able to offer its clients.
He added, “I am thrilled to be joining S&W, a firm I’ve known and respected for many years. Its commitment to growth, inclusion, and professional excellence, along with its enduring reputation, made it the clear next step for me, and a prosperous new home for my team and clients. I am excited to set-up a new service offering in one of the premier UK Professional Services firms, continuing to do what I know and love, while expanding the range of innovative solutions offered by S&W.”
