BTG Advisory has strengthened its forensics practice with the hire of Kate Beckett. She joins as a partner, bringing more than two decades of experience to the firm.

“This is a very exciting time to be joining BTG Advisory and I am looking forward to getting started,” said Beckett.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Kate Beckett joins BTG Advisory from Azets, where she was a partner in its Forensics team. Before that, she spent two decades at two other professional services firms, DSW and Deloitte, where she delivered a range of insights into strategic and commercial decisions arising from forensic work.

For her clients, which include individuals, owner-managed businesses, small businesses, large corporates, private equity houses and non-governmental organisations, Beckett advises on a range of areas including commercial disputes, investigations into allegations of accounting irregularities and valuations of private company shareholdings.

Beckett regularly is appointed as an expert witness, ‘shadow’ expert and independent adviser to clients across multiple industries delivering reports and testimony.

Richard Pughe, partner at BTG Advisory and Head of Forensics practice, commented, “Bringing Kate on board is a great addition to our expanding Forensic team. She has consistently delivered outstanding work for her clients and is well regarded across the industry for the advice she delivers in high-profile cases.”

BTG Advisory has six offices in the UK – London, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham and Bristol. The firm, which is part of Begbies Traynor, provides financial advisory services in areas such as performance improvement, transactions, restructuring and forensics.

Pughe added, “I am very much looking forward to working alongside Kate as she drives our team in Leeds and the North East forward. We’re accelerating the forensics offering of the firm, and her knowledge and expertise – alongside our other recent appointments – will fuel the development of our offering across the UK. Our clients will value and benefit from the strategic advice she gives and how she will help them navigate the ever-evolving business landscape.”
