As consumer goods and retail businesses look to adapt to a fast-changing environment, professional services firm Newton and investment and advisory expert True have launched a new partnership. The collaboration will help clients in the sector with their transformations, leveraging technology and advanced data insights.

Steve Wilson, senior partner at Newton, commented, “Our joint offering will help the industry tackle their deeply entrenched issues and set them up for growth, success, and innovation into the future. Newton excels in complex, fast-paced ecosystems, where we unlock significant challenges and opportunities to deliver meaningful and sustainable impact for businesses we work with, the societies we live in and the consumers we serve. The combination of our forensic approach with access to True’s unparalleled technology ecosystem and advisory practice will inject a new and unique perspective into our transformation work with clients.”

Newton works with retailers and consumer goods businesses to tackle their most complex, high-stakes issues, driving significant financial performance improvement and delivering new sources of revenue growth and sustainable value. Meanwhile, retail, consumer and technology specialist investment and advisory firm, True brings sector-specific, strategic expertise in harnessing cutting-edge and emerging technologies to unlock new sources of top and bottom-line value creation.

The partnership will work to help consumer and retail businesses innovate for the future. According to a release from the firms, they will work to deliver “relevant and cutting-edge thinking, insights, use cases, technologies and diligenced vendors into organisations”, helping them to “make bolder decisions with confidence and de-risk their investments in innovation and technology”.

This will include “unbiased and solution-agnostic advice on their strategic options,” which could help retailers to accelerate their changes in a way tailored to their needs. Embedding this approach within wider business transformation and operational improvement programmes will “ensure improved organisational adoption, fast, sustainable results and new, improved, experiences for stakeholders and customers”, Newton and True maintain.

Meanwhile, the implementation expertise of Newton means clients will also receive “ongoing frontline support to leverage the technology” so that it creates value at scale focusing on building capability. Supporting all of this, clients will benefit from executive "critical friend" advisory to bring external challenge, perspective and ideas into the boardroom.

Liam Buswell, managing director at True, added, “Combined, Newton and True have industry leading retail and consumer expertise, an ever-growing ecosystem of technology and a unique business model that will supercharge value creation opportunities from field to shelf for our clients. This will lead not only to improvements today but transformational competitive advantage tomorrow.”
