Elliot Vaughn named EMESA human resources and people leader for BCG

Boston Consulting Group has appointed a new chief human resources officer, and people chair, for its business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America. Elliot Vaughn, a senior partner who received an MBE for his work campaigning for LGBT+ inclusion in the workplace, will take on the role.
Since joining Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2005, Elliot Vaughn has focused his client work in health care and social impact. He has additional experience in the energy, financial services, media, retail, and industrial goods industries, across a broad range of topics. He was made a managing director and partner in 2013, was further promoted to senior partner in 2021.
Vaughn has also been a prominent advocate for diversity and inclusion during this time, both in BCG and broader society. He has led the firm’s global LGBTQ+ network, Pride@BCG, which has been active for more than 20 years in the company and has over 750 members across 80 offices. Meanwhile outside of the firm he is the founder and Chair of GiveOut, a charity that raises funds for global LGBTQ+ advocacy, and also serves on the board of OutRight Action International. In 2023, this saw Vaughn honoured with an MBE.
Looking ahead, he will now head up BCG’s human resources and people function across the firm’s Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America (EMEASA) operations. A chief human resources officer (CHRO – sometimes also referred to as a chief people officer, or CPO) typically oversees an organisation's HR management and labour relations policies, practices and operations – including inclusivity policy.
Commenting on his latest promotion, Vaughn said via a LinkedIn post with almost 1,000 engagements, “I'm honoured to be taking on an executive leadership role as CHRO and people chair for Boston Consulting Group's business in EMESA. Here's to 2025 and a year of impact and progress!”
