Altran appoints Rieder Kirstan as VP Development Asia
Rieder Kirstan (57) has been appointed at Altran as Vice President for Business Development Asia. Kirstan, who currently is a member of the Group Management Committee, will report directly to Philippe Salle, CEO of Altran. His main focus will be China and India where he will be in charge of providing Altran's clients with services in the area of technology and innovation.
Kirstan has more than 20 years of experience in the consulting branch and worked, among others, for Capgemini, Logica and Arthur D. Little.
Kirstan's has been given two focus areas. Firstly, he will further roll-out Altran's global products and services to the high-growth markets of China and India. Secondly, Kirstan will also build up Altran's local presence, with a particular focus on Chinese clients in the AIT (Automotive, Infrastructure and Transportation) and TEM (Telecoms and Media) industries. In addition, he will also be in charge of professionalising the Group's offshore activities based in India.
About Rieder Kirstan
After graduating with a Master's degree in mathematics from the University of Constance, Kirstan began his career working at a large software developer. In 1989, he was appointed Project Manager in the avionics department of Capgemini in Munich, before taking up a variety of positions including that of Managing Director of CMG's Industry department in Germany. In 2003, Kirstan became a Senior Manager with Arthur D. Little's German office and, in 2005 took up the same position at one of Altran's subsidiaries. In January 2009, following the merger of Altran's German subsidiaries, he was appointed Managing Director of Altran Germany and, in 2010, Executive Director of Altran's AIT Industry.
