Trivandi acquires boutique events consultancy firm The Bulb

Trivandi has acquired global sustainability consultancy The Bulb. As Trivandi expands into new sectors and markets, the deal sees six experts become part of the firm.
Co-founder and CEO of Trivandi, James Bulley, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome The Bulb to the Trivandi Group. Sustainability has always been core to our vision to create a meaningful impact in our sector and protect our planet. This partnership elevates our ability to take action in the fight against climate change by ensuring every project we work on reduces its carbon footprint through the advice we give and interventions we make.”
Founded in 2015, The Bulb provides sustainability consultancy for major events, global organisations and key players across the event, creative and media industries. From offices in London, Dubai and Riyadh, the team fuses in-depth sustainability knowledge with a strategic and practical approach and enable clients to deliver future-focused projects with a great legacy.
Meanwhile, Trivandi is a consulting firm which specialises in work for major events, venues, destinations and sports organisations. Since its founding in 2013, it has grown to more than 60 specialists across three global offices – also in London, Dubai, and Riyadh – and has helped to deliver more than 260 projects in 26 countries.
According to Bulley, by combining The Bulb’s ESG model with Trivandi’s strategy, design and delivery expertise, the combined firm will “raise the bar for sustainability standards across the events, venues, destinations and organisations” it serves. At the same time, the acquisition of The Bulb is another key milestone for Trivandi, amid a time of rapid growth.
Over the past year, Trivandi’s core staff have doubled across its three offices, while the firm also established the Trivandi Academy to drive forward the professionalisation of the industry and launched its inaugural Major Events 101 training course to upskill aspiring and experienced major events professionals. Looking ahead, The Bulb’s team will further power this growth by establishing a dedicated sustainability business within Trivandi, embedding sustainability into every phase of project delivery.
Co-founder and CEO of The Bulb, Selina Donald, who becomes Trivandi’s director of sustainability, commented, “I founded The Bulb to tackle climate change issues and make a real difference to the communities and environment where major events are held. After collaborating with the Trivandi team on COP28 UAE last year and more recently on Expo 2025 in Osaka, we recognised a shared vision and ambition to create meaningful experiences that push the boundaries of what sustainable event practice can be.”
The Bulb’s expert team of six have fully integrated into Trivandi. Together, they will deliver a comprehensive range of services, including event sustainability strategies, operational and design consultancy, training sessions and programmes that engage and educate leadership and teams as part of the Trivandi Academy, certifications including ISO 20121:2014 and carbon footprint measurement and reporting.
