Amir Malik joins Alvarez & Marsal as managing director in EMEA digital wing

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has expanded its EMEA digital practice with the appointment of a new managing director. Amir Malik arrives from Accenture Song, where he held the same rank for the last eight years.

Malik arrives following more than a decade of senior roles in the media and consulting sectors. Having held advertising consulting roles with Google, and management positions with DMG Media, he spent a year as head of publishing and data at MailOnline before working as director of programmatic and digital at Local World. He joined Accenture Song as a digital marketing expert in 2017, and also served as a managing director for the wider Accenture company, focusing on digital, data and global marketing practices.

In his new role at A&M, Malik will play a key part in expanding the firm’s capabilities in AI-driven customer and marketing solutions, data-driven services, and data monetisation. This will also see him work across industrial lines, including for A&M’s private equity performance improvement business, where the firm says it is “seeing increased interest and demand for data-driven solutions.”

With mounting challenges facing private equity investors, when it comes to ensuring value for their money – from market volatility, to interest rate hikes, and regulatory changes – organisations are turning to data analytics to achieve their goals. Done right, this can help yield more objective decision-making, and a healthier bottom line. And as the private equity market looks to make use of its dry powder, following a slump in activity in 2023, services from consultancies to help use data to these ends are increasingly popular.
