Young MCA announces Ted Eastaugh as new chair
The Young MCA has appointed a new Chair, as it looks to grow throughout 2024. AtkinsRéalis consultant Ted Eastaugh will take on the role after a handover period in the autumn.
The Management Consultancies Association (MCA) is the representative body for the UK consulting industry, dedicated to supporting member interests and promoting the value of consultancy to the private and public sector. On top of this wider remit, the MCA also champions a number of specialist sub-groups, which provide best practices and networking experiences for its members. One such sub-group is the Young MCA.
As the Young MCA aims to engage and develop the young consultant community, while also shaping the future of the industry at a pivotal time for the UK’s economy, the organisation has named a new chair. Now, AtkinsRéalis has been announced as the successor to IBM Consulting’s Emily Ireland-Jones, as the Young MCA continues to grow with more younger consultants joining the profession than ever before.
Chair Elect Eastaugh said, “As the incoming Chair of the Young MCA, I feel privileged to represent our community of young consultants. I am committed to building on the foundations that the Young MCA has established to further elevate and promote our profession.”
Eastaugh joined professional services and project management company AtkinsRéalis in 2023. Having arrived as a graduate consultant in its business consulting and advisory practice, he is now the early career professional lead for AtkinsRéalis’ aerospace and defence team. Eastaugh is also progressing towards the Associate Chartered Management Consultant Accreditation (ChMC) himself.
He added, “Recognising the ChMC accreditation as a beacon of excellence within our industry, I am dedicated to extending its reach and benefits to young consultants across the industry and look forward to engaging more closely with both the organisation and our members to ensure the success of young consultants.”
The Young MCA has announced Ted Eastaugh as the new Chair elect of the Young MCA, a professional network for consultants starting a career in management consultancy. The appointment comes as the Young MCA continues to grow with more younger consultants joining the professional network than ever before thanks to the expansion of the MCA which now represents well over 90 leading consulting firms. The network, supported by the Management Consultancies Association (MCA), runs face to face events across the UK as well as workshops with guest speakers focusing on communication, leadership skills, and diversity and inclusion throughout the year. Recent topics for events have included masterclasses on public speaking and using Linkedin to boost your network, the benefits of mentors and sponsors, and events with inspirational leaders from across consultancy sector.
As the voice of young consultants in the UK, the Young MCA aims to engage and develop the young consultant community, while also shaping the future of the industry. Its executive committee is led by a chair, who also sits on the main MCA Board, with a team of volunteer vice-chairs who lead on various workstreams. Eastaugh will take over that role in the third quarter of the year, having completed a handover period with the incumbent Ireland Jones.
Tamzen Isacsson, CEO of the MCA, added, “A big thanks must go to Emily Ireland Jones from IBM Consulting for her brilliant impact in the role over the past couple of years and for being a great ambassador for the industry and the new Chartered Management Consultant Accreditation. I look forward to working with Ted and the wider Young MCA Council on the range of Young MCA activities in 2024 as we promote the exciting career pathways in consulting and provide essential tools and advice for consultants on their journey in the profession.”
