Chris Stening joins Eight Advisory as senior advisor
Eight Advisory strengthens its expertise in Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure with the appointment of Chris Stening as Senior Advisor.
Eric Demuyt, a managing director at Eight Advisory, commented on the appointment, “We are constantly expanding our strategic competences to create value for our clients in global markets, supported by both extensive industry-specific knowledge and our deep financial knowledge and operational expertise.”
With more than 800 consultants, including 100 partners, Eight Advisory is a pan-European advisory firm specialised in transactions, restructuring, and transformations. Headquartered in Paris, the firm has since launched presences in Marseille, Nantes, Rennes, Lyon, Amsterdam, Brussels, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Zurich, New York and London.
The firm’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure wing provides clients with insights to drive market penetration, revenue and long-term transformation, while navigating volatile environments and optimising future M&A positions. As a senior partner in that practice, Chris Stening will support an international team led by Transaction Services Partner Christian Berling, Transaction Services and Project Finance Partner Lionel Gerard, and Strategy and Operations Partner Nick Breadner.
Breadner said, “There is a huge opportunity to support our clients drive return on capital from network deployment and maximise take-up of services on those networks. Consolidation in fibre and other parts of the telecoms market also requires skilled advice and hands-on support in merger integration and realisation of synergies. Chris has a deep experience across these areas.”
Stening is an experienced operator in the sector, with deep expertise in commercial development, business unit leadership, change, transformation and M&A. Over the last 25 years he has worked in leadership roles across major broadband businesses. This includes holding senior roles with Sky Broadband, CityFibre, O2, Easynet Connect, BT Broadband & UK Online.
Stening added, “I am thrilled to join Eight Advisory. After a period of focus on rollout, fibre builders are now switching to drive service take up while also having to deal with the inevitable consolidation we will see over the next few years. Navigating these changes successfully requires experienced help and I am delighted to be joining a firm with such an impressive track record.”
