Nicholas Fox elected as next MCA president
The Management Consultancies Association has elected Nicholas Fox as its new president. He will preside over the role for a two year team, starting from March 2024.
Commenting on his new role, inbound MCA President Nicholas Fox, commented, “I’m thrilled to be elected as the next president of the MCA. Our profession is in great demand for strategic guidance, helping clients with their challenges and opportunities including embedding AI, implementing technology transformation and support with sustainability efforts. My focus will be on championing diversity and equity within our profession and promoting the MCA's chartered programme, which provides consultants with professional accreditations for the first time. I look forward to working with MCA members as we continue to drive positive change in our industry.”
The Management Consultancies Association (MCA) provides a collective voice for the UK consulting industry. Its members employ roughly 45,000 professionals across the UK’s £20 billion advisory scene, while working with more than 90 of the FTSE 100 companies and the vast majority of the public sector.
Having worked in consulting for over 25 years, Nicholas Fox has held senior roles with MCA member firms, PwC and IBM Consulting – but has spent the last 19 years with KPMG. As the firm’s sector head for government with the Big Four firm, he is responsible for KPMG’s central government practice and leads the firm’s work in the justice sector.
Fox also has plenty of experience within the MCA itself. He sits on the leadership board for the firm’s global government network, and is a Chartered Management Consultant. He takes on the presidency from Yunus Ozler – an EY partner who has held the role since 2022.
Speaking on the news, MCA CEO Tamzen Isacsson added, “The MCA is going from strength to strength and now represents over 90 leading consulting firms and grew over 20% last year. I and the MCA team would like to thank Yunus Ozler and EY for helping to lead the Presidency over the past couple of years and for their work particularly around the Young MCA and the scale of the Chartered Award. We very much look forward to working with Nicholas Fox from KPMG and the rest the Board to continue to champion the role of consulting in society and the economy and to deliver valuable member services for the sector.”
The MCA’s president is elected from amongst the members of the MCA Council, and serves a two-year period, working with the MCA Board to direct and supervise the work of the trade association. This process has also seen two new vice presidents elected for the MCA. They are Rachel Charlton, a partner at Deloitte, and Andy Lethbridge from BAE Systems Digital Intelligence.
