Thomson Environmental Consultants launches in East Anglia
UK advisory firm Thomson Environmental Consultants has unveiled a new branch in East Anglia. The new locale presents the opportunity for more than 20 new roles in the next 12 months.
Founded in 2004, Thomson Environmental Consultants is an independent environmental consultancy which supports businesses with complying with environmental legislation. The firm boasts in-house expertise in terrestrial ecology, marine services, freshwater ecology and management, habitat creation and management, geospatial data management and mapping services, among others.
Thomson has branches across the UK, including its head office in Guildford, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff, and Birmingham. As it looks to accommodate growing demand for environmental consulting services, it has also launched a new hub in East Anglia.
While the firm has not yet confirmed exactly where that will be in the region, a release from Thomson suggests it will eventually house more than 20 new roles by the end of the year. As it is, the expansion has already led to the recruitment of three new roles.
James Booty has arrived as a senior ecological consultant and regional office manager to head up the new East Anglia branch, alongside Chris Bridge, a field ecologist with a wide range of experience, will also joins as a senior ecological consultant. Meanwhile, Ana Pino-Blanco, a licensed bat specialist with considerable experience in supporting clients with various bat survey and mitigation techniques, will also join the office as an ecological consultant.
The appointments follow a series of contract wins, including rail and highway upgrade schemes, habitat monitoring for Natural England, and biodiversity net gain assessments for various strategic developments.
Thomson’s recently appointed chief operating officer, Lucy Hunt, said, “The expansion of our offices into East Anglia is of strategic importance, and the branch is already looking at expansion to meet client needs. The new team members will contribute innovation and dedication to meet the evolving needs of our expanding business. All the while ensuring the company’s long legacy of high-quality service and dedication to deliver value for clients is maintained.”
