Eoghan Hartigan to lead Bovill capital markets team
Financial regulation consultancy Bovill has promoted Eoghan Hartigan to practice lead for its capital markets wing. In his new role, Hartigan will be responsible for supporting clients in key market areas including client assets, market abuse, exchange rules, financial crime, transaction reporting, derivatives trading and clearing and benchmark administration.

Ahead of a busy year of regulatory change, Bovill is looking to grow its talent and invest in its leaders. To that end, Hartigan’s promotion from within the company sees Bovill continues to strengthen its position in the capital markets space. He will now work closely with Damon Batten, who has grown Bovill’s capital markets offering over the last seven years. Batten will continue to oversees the firm’s capital markets, Hong Kong and Americas practices in his role as partner.
Taking up the role of capital markets practice lead at Bovill, Hartigan added, “I’m thrilled to take on this new challenge, and am looking forward to working with the rest of the team to develop Bovill’s offering. Capital markets firms have had to navigate a huge amount of regulatory change in recent years, and I’m keen to help clients thrive in this new landscape.”
According to a release from Bovill, Hartigan offers “a deep understanding of clients’ needs, having worked with a wide variety of firm types across the financial services sector”. This includes experience in regulatory due diligence work for sales and acquisitions, Section 166 work and authorisations for investment firms.
He has worked his way through the ranks at Bovill while also continuing academic study, being awarded a master’s degree in Theology in 2022. Elsewhere, before joining Bovill in 2016, Hartigan was previously at KPMG. In his time at the Big Four firm, he worked with the regulatory and financial services assurance teams.
