Browne joins from PwC, where he was a Director in the Big Four firm’s risk and regulatory practice, leading a team supporting clients across retail investment markets. In that role, he worked on a broad range of conduct and culture issues, including governance reviews, Senior Managers Conduct Regime frameworks and digital advice platforms. He previously also worked at the Financial Conduct Authority, leading on regulatory initiatives including the RDR and investment platforms, and gaining a deep understanding of the regulator’s strategy and approach.

Looking ahead, Browne will lead Bovill’s insurance and lending financial team, as Head of Wealth. The team advises the firm’s mortgage, consumer credit and insurance clients, specialising in a broad range of FCA regulations and their impact on a firm’s regulatory lifecycle. These include ad hoc support on technical matters, regulatory change management expertise, and customer-outcomes testing, among others.

Speaking on the new role, Browne commented, “I am delighted to be joining the team at Bovill.  I look forward to working with our clients across a range of regulatory projects and compliance services, supported by my talented team of wealth and regulatory specialists. This is a challenging period for the UK financial services sector given the UK Government’s intention to amend EU rules in the hope of delivering a Brexit dividend, and I’m excited to help clients navigate the challenges that will arise.”
